books: Cryptonomicon, His Dark Materials, the Dark Tower series, anything by Le Guin or Gaiman (I just finished Sandman), and the Book of Flying by Keith Miller. Harry Potter and Chronicles of Narnia. Thirst by Mary Oliver, and any poetry by e.e.cummings. My favorite directors are Del Toro and Miyazaki and Wong Kar Wai. I can quote most Miyazaki movies by heart.
