About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Heading North to Queensland to pick fruits near Brisbane!

ABOUT ME

I'm a Canadian who is currently living in Melbourne with my Australian love, Lachlan. We met while WWOOFing (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) in Nelson, BC. We went to Shambhala together and fell in love and he invited me to come back to Australia with him and I accepted. I hadn't travelled much outside of Canada before this and I think it was probably the biggest leap of faith I've ever taken. I'm so glad I did : )

I'm a pretty happy individual that's been blessed with living an incredible life so far. I like spending time outside when the weather is fine and also wandering around in the rain. I'd say I'm medium outdoorsy which means I like camping/festivals, going for strolls, maybe a jaunty bicycle ride, but I'm not into going on crazy runs up mountains in 38 degree heat. Unless there's a slushee on top. Or a big pool. I really love being in nature though and that's probably as close to my religion as I could define.

I'm more comfortable with small groups of people than mingling at a huge party. Usually because at big parties everyone is yelling and then I am also yelling even though I can't hear what you're saying I'm just yelling back and then smiling and nodding when you yell back. Sometimes that's fun though. Sometimes it's fun when there's no yelling and just dancing.

PHILOSOPHY

My belief is that we live in order to learn. Everything we do in this life is just the gathering of experiences and knowledge with the best of intentions. I am also a firm believer on how important positive thought and being grateful are. The more you notice the good things in your life, the more they come to you. I love manifestation! I suppose my personal philosophy would be another one of my interests because I'm usually thinking about this stuff. I'm open to considering new ways of thinking why I live my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would love to meet some fun people to explore the city with. I haven't really got my tourist thang on yet and there's plenty of places I still want to see. There's also some pretty great music that comes through here and it's always nice to sing and dance with other people : )

I would also love market/crafting friends that would like to journey to all the amazing markets on the weekends or sit around with a cup of tea and some tunes and create. Also looking for a lady friend to go to yoga with. I haven't done it in a long time. I miss it. Is that participating or looking for participants?

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never couch surfed myself but have met many amazing people (and some good friends) through unofficial couch surfing and from friends that have hosted couch surfers. I used to live in a shared house that would see people come and go all the time (sometimes on a weekly/nightly basis) and I can't think of a better way to travel the world. It seems like such a good way to meet and hang out with people that have similar interests and values to you.

Interests

Digging in the dirt (with the intention of growing things usually), wildcrafting, seed saving, making plant medicine, food (cooking and eating - especially sweets), food preservation, arts and crafts (I draw mandalas and I am trying to teach myself to sew... I like making things as I'm inspired to make them. I also appreciate the handywork of others and would love to skill swap with you.)
