About Me
I live on a remote island in the top end of Australia with my husband. I'm a school counsellor, working across 5 schools in small communities, my husband is an environmental scientist. We love living on the island, on weekdays we spend our time in remote communities and on weekends we like to go out bush and explore or head to the beach for a fish. We spend a lot of time gardening and hanging out with our 8 chickens. We both love travelling, meeting new people and broadening our horizons.
Interests
I love painting, well, any arts and craft really. I am working towards becoming an art therapist and planning on studying a masters degree. I'd love to have my own practice one day. I also love gardening.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
By far one of my most amazing experiences was when I first moved up to the Northern Territory, I attended a camp with the community. We spent the days fishing and looking for bush tucker. The old ladies taught me how to cook snails, find sugar bag and some traditional dance (they all laughed wildly at my dancing). I spent one evening down on the beach with the ladies on their country, we started a fire, collected snails and sat for hours while they shared their culture with me and told me their stories. It was an incredible experience and one I will treasure forever.
