About Me

I am older than the majority of cs. I know what I want/ expect.
I am one to be counted on, no worries.
Thanks for sharing your space!! Let me know if you need anything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I speak of the possibilities where ever I venture~ I love traveling and interacting with strangers. I have enjoyed Couchsurfing.com for thirteen plus years.
With each interaction, we don't know how it'll unfold and what will be revealed. There are no guarantees- I go out and investigate.
I try to meet CSers early in the day to wage if I genuinely want to stay with them that evening. It is a simple decision.
When hosting, I haven't been concerned with guests after I meet with them and allow entry, yet I wouldn't hesitate to send them down the road to our local hostel if I feel unsafe or uncomfortable- plus, I employ the lock on my bedroom door.

I have squatted in numerous spots in Western Europe.
Costa Rica gave me ~hammocks for three weeks.
In addition, various homes have welcomed me in as a stranger and sent me out as a chum.

I have offered my home, yard, couch, or guest room to oodles of travelers -and can recall only one undesirable. We have shared many stories, jokes, board games, pictures, food and meal preparations, bike rides, music, language, poetry, dance, and prose. Plus, we have run or cycled together.
Strangers can be divine, fast friends.
Couchsurfing is tremendous. Thank you

Interests

Time will tell.
Life, friendships, sailboats, hunger for knowledge, laughter, death, rebirth and replenish, health (and wealth), nutritious meals, seeds and nuts and mushrooms, local farms' foods, wine in gardens, storms, hail, singing, stretching, books, dance and dogs, giraffes, words and cats.

Music, Movies, and Books

Caramel, a film in Arabic, was seen the other night at Olympia's historic Capitol Theatre: Superb vision. L'enfant and House of Sand -they still linger.
Annie Dilliard's The Living and her entire collection, Sun magazine subscription for 28 years, Dwell, Yes, Orion, and Bust magazine turns me up and on, Arundhati Roy's The God of Small Things, The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down, Teenage Liberation Handbook, How to Grow Fresh Air, my journal.
Recently during traveling, I read Isabel Allende and Steve Martin. The Journals of Emily Carr and a thick rolled-up pile of The Sun is what I took on my recent adventure. I will discard all the Suns before I come home, leaving them on buses or in a waiting area.
Veda Hille, Elvis Costello and my cousin, a Krall, Thao and Mirah, Lady Sovereign, Regina Spektor, Rainer maria, Gillian Welch, Young, Waits, Reed, Earle, Cohen, Xray specs, Peaches, Roaches, Softies, Becca Pearcy, Karen dalton, Dolly Parton, Jolie holland, Erin Corday, my own voice, Nina Hagen, Missy and MIA, Beatles, The Gossip, The Need, Be Good Tanyas, Imogen Heap, Cat Power...-this list is from 6 years ago but I will leave it here, on 2/3/17

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sunsets in Walla Walla are consistently phenomenal.
Olympia's punk rock opera Transfused x5.
Eleven days in downtown Seattle during WTO-roaming as if I was traveling in another country.
Celebrating elder friends' birthdays most every month.
Herds of elk, a musky, black bear above my head (inserting its snout inside my tent's "window") at daybreak out of Clayoquot Sound, B.C.
Grandma Mary's Friendly Grove garden.
Being surrounded by the green glimmers of Costa Rica's spiders.
Dodged fists time and time again (psychotic patients).
Fear in the jungle made me bark at revving motorcycles that I thought to be wild creatures.
Sexy friends dancing.
My dreams almost every night.
