Overview
About Me
I live and work in Malmö, Sweden. I've been living here for three years now with my husband Anton. Before moving to Sweden I taught English in Thailand in a village about an hour outside Bangkok and spent half a year traveling around southeast Asia and Europe. I'm originally from Southern California and I miss Mexican food desperately. I like cooking and baking and eating good food.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My favorite thing about traveling is seeing how other people live. What better way to experience life as a local than to stay with someone that lives in the area? I want to know what food to eat and what to see that might not be in the tourist books.
Interests
I've been rock climbing for a little over a year and go twice a week to the bouldering gym around the corner from my house. When the weather is nicer I'll try my hand at some outdoor climbing, hopefully while traveling. I like long hikes, camping, seeing wildlife, and being outside as much as possible. I enjoy cooking and baking, and of course eating delicious food. I have a small garden on my balcony where I try to grow food and flowers. I love wandering through cities and admiring the buildings. People watching. Reading.

Music, Movies, and Books
My music taste is eclectic, but mostly centers around indie bands with interesting beats (The Dirty Projectors, The Blow). My husband listens to a lot of metal, but a lot of everything else as well. My favorite movies are Better Off Dead, Eternal Sunshine, Almost Famous. I read a lot, usually classics or sci-fi. Vonnegut is my favorite author.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've done so many things in my life that I would consider amazing. I've swam in waterfalls, paid off student loans, met some amazing people, and eaten some pretty weird things. My favorite experience so far is probably one of the craziest as well. I woke up before sunrise to ride an hour away from my home in Samut Sakhon to Wat Bang Phra in Nakorn Pathom, Thailand to receive a magic tattoo from a Buddhist monk. Definitely my favorite travel souvenier.
