About Me

ABOUT ME

Super fun and easy going. I get along with damn near everyone. I like to go with the flow and generally prefer to not make plans and just see what happens. I quit my job in summer of 2014 and have been beboppin around the world since.

Since then I've been to South America, Cuba, New Zealand, and around Europe for a few months. Plus 2 trips home in that time, its been a busy year.

I used to work as a recruiter for tech companies around the bay area, great job just a bit boring. Now I am deciding what is next and can hopefully find/create a career for myself that will allow me to be wherever the wind takes me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The most basic answer to this is to be friendly to my backpacker budget. Having a place to call home for a few days with nice hosts away from hostels is really what makes it great.

One of these days I will have a house again and can't wait to do some hosting :)

Interests

Travel of course. At home I do everything from baseball games, musicals, clubbin, wine nights, volunteer, theme parties, act like a tourist in my city....all sorts of stuff

Here are some of my favorite things:

Hiking

Any activity involving water

Baking- I'm happy to make a pie for anyone :D

Cooking for big groups of people, nothin like food to bring a crowd together

Speaking Spanish

Doing scary things- I feel so proud when I raise the adrenaline and do something I never thought I could be capable of. Sometimes its just getting on a plane, sometimes its jumping out of one. Whatever gets the blood going.

Dancing to any type of music

Playing with my niece

Meeting other travelers and getting to know the motivation behind their travel. Everyone has a story to tell.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love almost every type of music...accept death metal type screaming music. Never got into that one. Some favorite include Hermitude, Sublime, Herb Albert, 90s hiphop/RnB, Hank Williams, Randy Travis, Manu Chao, Broadway Musicals etc etc... really all over the place.

Movies-
Since my hard drive got stolen the only movie I have is Love Actually. I've probably watched it about 25 times in the last year. Aside from that Snatch, Lock stock and two smoking barrels, American Gangster, Beaches, Secret life of Walter Mitty (great soundtrack too), Motorcycle Diaries. Can't think of anymore right now but those are classics that I can watch over and over

Books-
Alchemist is my all time favorite book and I like a few other by Paulo Coelho, Jitterbug Perfume, Wild, 4 hour work week, $100 startup, Imagine, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Assisted in the birth of my niece. That is the most amazing experience I have ever had and my name is even on the birth certificate as the midwifes assistant.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to bake a pie and say cheers in at least 5 languages.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I've got a few jokes I can share, babysitting skills and a sunny disposition that I'm happy to share :)
