About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Saving the world

ABOUT ME

I am adventurous, friendly, curious, and highly interested in the world around me. I grew up in a seaside town next to mountains in South Africa, lived then in Edinburgh for a couple of years. I've now settled in Etosha National Park with my boyfriend from where I terrify and excite my friends and family with stories about living in the bush and pioneer a recycling project.

PHILOSOPHY

Recycle! And be kind to your environment - be it human, animal, plant or mineral. (And I try as far as possible not to buy bottled water.)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

If I'm not out working with my boyfriend or busy saving the world, I would welcome couch surfers in our home in Etosha. Note: It does quite often happen that we are not at home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My couch surfing experiences have been amazing and completely restored my faith in humanity! It is exciting to spread the word to others

Interests

Vast and varied: I am a novice clarinet, guitar and piano player. I enjoy cycling and plan to travel the world by bicycle. One day I will also do the Cape Argus in Cape Town. I enjoy photography, and watching wildlife behavior. I like baking bread in my solar oven and working in our veggie garden. Spending time with friends and family is food for the soul...but I am most happy in the middle of nowhere with little more than a glass of wine and good company.

Music, Movies, and Books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Few scenes have impressed me as much as the Namibian desert. I have ascended mountains in the Alps and Pyrenees and spent some great nights in bothies in Scotland. Great times were had wandering about north Spain, the the trip by ferry to Madeira was pretty amazing. And there was that amazing lavendar field in the south of France.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you how to be a more environmentally friendly person without major changes to your lifestyle:)
