About Me
Hey all!
I'm Michiel, 23 years young and I grew up in a small town in Belgium, the land known for chocolate, waffles and beer. Currently I'm working as a management consultant at McKinsey and I graduated as a mechanical engineer.
I would describe myself as an helpful, enthousiastic and impulsive guy who currently dreams of living in Asia for an undetermined amount of time.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
By far the best way to experience a trip in another country is to connect with the people who grew up in it. I love discussing beliefs, dreams and goals with people from another culture. Throughout my trips abroad, I encountered who drastically changed my opinion on certain topics and made me rethink how I should "tackle life" in general.
Interests
Beside all the international stuff I try to practice sport as much as possible. I've been practising martial arts (judo, Thaibox and Krav Maga) for more than 12 years and I practised gymnastics for 5 years.
I also love reading (mainly fantasy) and enjoy the occasional video game and tv serie.
On one of my impulsive moments a few months ago I decided to buy a piano and realised I should have bought one years ago.

Teach, Learn, Share
As a Belgian, I would feel deeply ashamed if I would not bring my host/offer my guest their fair share of chocolate. In addition, I'm happy to share all my experiences so far, discuss any sort of engineering stuff, teach you any language I command or even show you some fancy gymnastics stuff:)
