I am just done with my master and traveling around with as less luggage as possible. Currently I am traveling trough Central Amerika. While I was traveling around I decided to study Spanish in Guatemala because I am planning to stay for a year in South/central amerika. My goal is to speak Spanish fluently as soon as possible. I plan as less as possible and decide most of the time on the day itself what I want to do. Till sofar I have had wonderful experiences with that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have my account actually for a while now, but didn't do anything with it till a sometime ago. By coincidence I stayed at some local people and that was soo great that I decided to really join the CS environment. I would love to host people later in my own town as well once I am back.

Interests

First of all traveling ofcourse. This is my biggest passion (maybe together with sports). I basicly like every kind of sport. Was for a long time really active in mountainbiking (5 to 6 times a week) but now I have a mixture of running, racing cycling, squash, and full body workouts. My main sport is squashing and I do the rest to become better in squash :D

Beside traveling and sports I like to study a lot about developing countries. I am not an alcoholic but always love to try local beers from different countries.

Finaly I like to learn alot from people. So I am always really interested in someones passion which is/was in the first place not one of mine.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have not one specific style of music which I really like. For me it always depends where I am. A great experience was for me listening to live Opera in Dubrovnik on the streets. Its special place with its castle walls and it all made it perfect. But once I started listening to opera again at home I could not listen to it longer than a minute :p. If I listen at home it is always different where I am listening to.

My favorite movie is by far The Shawshank Redemption. Also I am a great fan of the movies from Quentin Tarantino. I have seen all of them so far.

I started reading quite recently again. I read alot about developing countries and now I tey to find normal books which I really like. Just started with Moby dick

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have done bungeejumping, skydiving, hidgehiking and diving with turtle's/ sharks. But my best experience so far is I think seeing the Northern lights. I have seen it quite often now but there were some magical moments with amazing skies. I also did volunteer work at Fiji and there I had to catch my own evening meal with harpooning. We were snorkeling in the sea to harpoon fish, every time after something like 2 hours we managed to catch enough fish for everyone. Never had such good meals before and after these meals.

I can share alot of travel stories ofcourse and uhm my house once I have a permanent residence again. I like to learn almost everything actually.

A local meal? A bed? A couch? I don't know yet but al least I know I can give a warm welcome.
