About Me

Hi! I am Michiel Kuik, born and raised in the Netherlands. I have a younger sister (22) and an older brother (25) and my parents own the only accordeon-museum in the Netherlands (very small), and also a cafe (relatively large). (God this feels like a dating-site haha) I am a happy, open, easygoing, nice guy with an interest in people and culture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I start backpacking soon, and I got the tip from a friend to sign up on Couchsurfing! This would be a perfect way to meet local people, experience the culture deeper and hear about thoughts and ideas from other people. One of the best tips I got this year!

Interests

I am interested in Social Paradigms. My dream Master is Behavioral change and I would like to help it for the good of the world (not for commercials or advertisement). I would love to teach the world how to break conventional truths, change dishabilatating paradigms and break authoritative power-plays.

Further, my interest comprise but are not limited to; Judo, Lacrosse, playing music (really anything), playing games (mainly strategy), travel, people, history and media

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a movie fanatic, so every time we get to pick a movie I must admit that 'I've seen it' for 90% of the cases (it doesn't stop me from watching it again though). Even though I love the big established names like 'Fight club' and 'Inception', I find a guilty pleasure in animation movies like 'How to train your dragon' and 'Tangled'.
I am very into jazzy music, but also in Deep House, Rock, Blues, R&B, (Most of) pop, and classic.
In books I find that social and philosophical books like '1984', 'a brave new world' and 'animal farm' peek my interest.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did an internship in Vadodara, India for 6 months. I was a projectmanager at an IT company and worked with and lived among Indian people for 6 months. This was one of the greatest experiences in my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a little dutch, basics of motorbike riding, some drinking games and how to download free movies (not bound to that order)

Belgium, Cambodia, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Laos, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Thailand, Turkey
