Michiel here! I'm 28 years old and I am about to finish my working holiday in Canada. I grew up in and around Amsterdam, The Netherlands, where I graduated in Media Studies. I worked for Microsoft for somewhat more than a year and decided to quit my job to go travelling. I lived in New Zealand for a year, working for an eco-friendly operator that organizes tours to swim with wild dolphins. In my year in Canada I lived and worked in Churchill, a northern town famous for its polar bears and belugas. While on the road I still write my little blog about pop music, photograph all the animals I see and try to meet as many nice people as possible!

It is a great opportunity to meet new people from all over the world and get a more local experience in the places you visit. I love to show Amsterdam (or any other place I live) to other people, take them to the cafes and less discovered spots that I like and I hope that my hosts can do the same when I visit. I love hanging out with people and exploring new places together, but I don't expect to be entertained all the fime when couchsurfing and will definitely enjoy doing stuff on my own too.
