Couchsurfing is not an apartment rental site, nor is it a dating site. If you need a room, look on craigslist.org. For that matter, if you need a date, look there too. I will not entertain romantic interests. Seriously. It's creepy.

Also, I used to find it a bit self-important when hosts would frown on people or refuse to host people who did not read their profile before requesting a couch, but now I'm in their camp. I've been couchsurfing for a long time, and for me, these collectives are about connection. We have to make sure we get along before I'll open up my home to you. Please don't bother to contact me if you don't have any references.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couch-surfed through global freeloaders a number of times which resulted in uniquely amazing experiences. Couchsurfing has been just as incredible.

I've hosted a number of people since I joined. I can't wait to host more.
