About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I'm moving to Sweden in August to start my master's degree! :)
ABOUT ME
I grew up in Las Vegas but have been bouncing around since graduating high school. The last five years I've worked in different states as a Park Ranger, somehow ending up back in Vegas for the last couple of years.
As I mentioned above, I'm going to start grad school in the fall - I was missing school and my wanderlust was acting up, so I figured why not kill two birds with one stone?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I haven't been able to host, since I've lived mostly on-site at jobs and then had roommates that weren't up to it, but I've always been willing to give Vegas tips from a native. I'm hoping I'll be able to host more when I relocate.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've surfed on a couple couches on my way to jobs and back, and it's been a great experience. I first looked into CouchSurfing for financial reasons, but I really like the community and the opportunity to meet all the different people I have. It's also a lot more fun than staying in a hotel. :)
Interests
Lots of things...reading, writing, hiking, camping, backpacking, nature, tree hugging, the environment, emergency and wilderness medicine, nutrition, exercise, primitive skills, and probably more I can't think of at the moment. I'd love to learn how to farm one day.
I kind of have interest ADD - there are a ton of things I'm interested in and want to learn, and I'll go through being really interested/focused on one, then move to the other, then another, and so on. Kind of perpertually a Jack of All Trades, Master of Nothing.

Music, Movies, and Books
I never quite got the hang of what the actual names of music genres and made up my own for my ipod years ago, so now I really have no idea what they officially are. I like, from my own genre names: Angry White Boys (Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin, etc), Lesbian Folky-type Stuff (anything you'd find on a Lilith Fair CD), and currently I've been rocking out to the Mainstream (your standard radio station fair).
My favorite book is The Lorax, by Dr. Seuss, and I can actually recite the entire thing from memory. Otherwise I go back and forth from a good non-fiction book (currently been on a food/nutrition/farming kick) and junk food for my brain (Young Adult and Historical or Paranormal Romance novels).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spent a night at a Buddhist Temple while living in South Korea
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach how to make friendship bracelets, how to cook and bake (including amazingly delicious and easy pickles), how to start a campfire with flint and steel, and other random things I've picked up along the way.
I'd like to learn...Everything. In all honesty, if you know it, I probably want to learn it. I love to learn new things.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share stories of living in Spain and South Korea, knowledge about the Mojave Desert, and a random assortment of facts that have somehow accumulated over the years. For example, did you know the barnacle has the largest genitalia in relation to body size? It would be like a man having the Empire State Building in his pants. (No, they aren't all sex related, that's just one of my favorites.) :)
Plus I'd love to cook you dinner!
