ABOUT ME

My name is Miek, a 24 year old psychologist, who is always up for some fun and new experiences. After graduating university in 2014 I decided it was time to treat myself to another six months of travels! I did this once before, when I lived in Australia for almost a year. During that amazing time I couch-surfed a few times and I love meeting locals and getting to know each place from a non-tourist perspective.

This time around I will spend 6 months in South America - starting in Rio de Janeiro in february 2015 and ending in Colombia in the beginning of June. I will also be visiting Bolivia and Peru.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would LOVE to couch-surf my way through South America and I will definitely return the favor once I return to Amsterdam. The reason I haven't hosted yet is because I live with seven roommates in a small house in Amsterdam. But as soon as I get my own apartment I will surely return the favor.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch-surfed at a bunch of places during my travels in Australia. I had no other then lovely encounters with the people that offered me their couch and welcomed me into their homes. In trade for some tips I would normally cook a typical Dutch dinner or make sure to give them the best tips about traveling Europe.

Interests

I love to listen to new music and go to concerts in my free time. I also love to write. Most of all I love to talk to people and get to know them and what they are all about (that's probably why I became a psychologist in the first place, eh).
