Soy Miela, fotógrafa nómada Auzzie, aventurera, guía aspirante y alpinista.
He vivido, trabajado y viajado por América Latina hace 2 años ahora.

Soy abierta a compartir habilidades, siempre feliz de chatear pero respetuoso con el espacio/tiempo de los anfitriones. Feliz de echar una mano y ayudar en todo lo posible (¡también dispuesto a hacer una limpieza profunda o tomar algunas imágenes profesionales de tu casa/habitación o de ti mismo!). Ando con carpa y colchoneta siempre, y no estoy tan fussy con espacio.

REALMENTE LO APRECIO:

- sentirse pequeño en entornos naturales increíbles (escalada, trekking, montañismo) - conexiones espontáneas, misiones secundarias, tonterías generales, creación de arte, ¡cocina!
- la de poder compartir conocimientos, educar y aprender. Amo a cocinar (idioma de amor) y a compartir mi conocimiento fotográfico, crear juntos, hablar sobre el estado del mundo.
- una ducha caliente y la sensación de estar en su lugar después de una gran aventura.

ADVENTURAS RECIEN:

- Un curso de WAFA primeros auxilios en español en San Pedro de Atacama (feliz de compartir conocimientos de primeros auxilios de manera informal), luego de tener que rescatar a un Brasileño en el Volcán Lascar.
- He estado viviendo esporádicamente en un 4x4 durante el año pasado, más recientemente en el desierto de Atacama Chile, Bolivia y el norte de Argentina (es por eso que no tengo muchas referencias aquí, ¡pero puedo prometer que tengo estándares de limpieza!)
- He viajado en barco desde Panamá a Colombia (a través de las increíbles islas de San Blas) Hice autostop en Baja California con una banda de Malabaristas.
- Obtuve una licencia de motocicleta en Medellín, Colombia.
- Pasé 2 semanas en un sitio de eventos en la jungla Panameña documentando un festival.

SUEÑOS del FUTURO:

-Estudiar de ser guía turística (tal vez de la moñtana) en Chile o Perú. O obtener una UIMLA.
-Empezar una licenciatura en psicología entre la próxima década.
-Caminar la Te Araoa: Caminata por Nueva Zelanda de arriba a abajo.
-Conducir por la autopista Dempster (nor, Alaska) y subir Denali.
-Cruzar desde Europa hasta mi isla natal tomando el menor número de aviones posible.

Probaré (casi) todo al menos una vez ! (jeje)

I’m Miela, an Aussie nomad photographer, adventurer, aspiring guide, and mountaineer.

I’ve been living, working, and traveling through Latin America for two years now.

I’m open to sharing my skills, always happy to chat, but respectful of my hosts’ space and time. Happy to lend a hand and help in any way I can (also willing to do a deep clean or take some professional photos of your home/room or of yourself!). I always travel with a tent and sleeping pad, and I’m not too picky about space.

I REALLY APPRECIATE:

- feeling small in incredible natural settings (climbing, trekking, mountaineering) - spontaneous connections, side missions, general silliness, creating art, cooking!

- being able to share knowledge, teach, and learn. I love cooking (my love language) and sharing my photography knowledge, creating together, talking about the state of the world.

- A hot shower and the feeling of being back home after a great adventure.

RECENT ADVENTURES:

- A WAFA first aid course in Spanish in San Pedro de Atacama (happy to share first aid knowledge in an informal way), after having to rescue a Brazilian on Lascar Volcano.

- I’ve been living sporadically in a 4x4 over the past year, most recently in the Atacama Desert in Chile, Bolivia, and northern Argentina (that’s why I don’t have many references here,

(But I can promise you I have high standards when it comes to cleanliness!)
- I traveled by boat from Panama to Colombia (through the incredible San Blas Islands). I hitchhiked through Baja California with a group of jugglers.
- I got a motorcycle license in Medellín, Colombia.
- I spent two weeks at an event venue in the Panamanian jungle documenting a festival.

FUTURE DREAMS:

- Study to become a tour guide (maybe in the mountains) in Chile or Peru. Or get a UIMLA.
-Start a bachelor’s degree in psychology within the next decade.
-Hike the Te Araoa: Walk across New Zealand from top to bottom.
-Drive the Dempster Highway (northern Alaska) and climb Denali.
-Travel from Europe to my home island using as few flights as possible.

Para, sencillamente, ampliar mi propia visión del mundo y, con suerte, devolver o transmitir el respeto que he recibido.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

¡¡¡No puedo elegir solo una!!! Hay demasiadas (no es por presumir, es que soy indeciso y estoy en plena aventura de dos años y medio).

Hice un intercambio en México. Aprendí español con una profesora maravillosa y hablando mucho en las esquinas.

Hice un viaje por carretera con los Jugglers durante dos semanas por Baja California.

Fotografié a las Cholitas Escaladoras
bajando de una escalada en el glaciar Tarija, en la Cordillera Real de Bolivia.

Recorrí Chile, Argentina y Bolivia en 4x4 durante TODO UN AÑO. Convencí a algunas personas para que probasen la vida en la carretera por el camino y recibí una increíble cantidad de amabilidad.

Hice una peregrinación con otras 40 personas maravillosas a través del desierto de Wirikuta,
en México.

I can't give 1!!! There's too many (I do not mean to be ego here - I'm just indecisive and very much on a 2.5 year long adventure).

Went on Exchange in Mexico. Learned Spanish from a wonderful teacher and a lot of talking on street corners.

Roadtrip per with Jugglers for 2 weeks in Baja California.

coming down from a climb on Tarija Glacier in the Cordillera Real Bolivia.

4x4ed through Chile/Argentina/Bolivia for 1 WHOLE YEAR. Convinced a few people to try car life along the way and felt an incredible amount of kindness.

10 pilgrimage with 40 other beautiful people across the Wirikuta Desert, Mexico.

Informally rescued an inexperienced solo climber off a mountain in the north of Chile.

Climbed a Hill in -18 degrees Celsius in Budapest.

Watched 80km gusts rip the roof off a building whilst working at Dark Mofo festival in a Australia.

Participated in a hug with +30 people.

Boat-hitch hiked from Panama to Colombia. Got a motorcycle licence in Medellin upon arrival.

Teach, Learn, Share

Puedo enseñar u ofrecer: ¡Una sesión de retratos fotográficos! ¡Comida mexicana! Clases de español e inglés. Técnicas de supervivencia en la naturaleza, orientación y trazado de rutas, escalada en pareja, dibujo del natural, poi, arte (pintura, dibujo y teoría), mezclas y pincha-discos.

Me encantaría aprender: escalada en hielo técnica, psicología, artes marciales, batería (el pasatiempo perfecto para una maleta a reventar), más sobre supervivencia en la naturaleza (medicina a base de plantas/navegación indígena/primeros auxilios/habilidades en la naturaleza), tecnología audiovisual + mapping de proyección + mezclas. Buceo libre, técnicas de respiración, técnicas de meditación, ¡portugués + alemán!
