Hello!
I'm a South African national and I moved to sunny Dubai about three years ago for work.
I'm quite social and love meeting new and interesting people.

Hmmm I'm not at this "personal philosophy" stuff so I've pasted two quotes by Stacey Carter (don't know who the heck she is!) that I just love...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been hosted twice now and both experiences were very positive albeit short. My friends have both hosted people and couch surfed and the feedback has been really positive as well. Now that I've been hosted I would be happy to host friendly and well-mannered people in my home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Two experiences in Amsterdam and France. My hosts were lovely.
I also met many wonderful people in Prague recently.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am hardly the violent type but I love movies about war, mobsters and mayhem. Science fiction and fantasy are also a favourite. If you love the Alien films (with Sigourney Weaver), True Blood, The Sopranos, Weeds, Dexter and Star Wars then I'm sure we will get along famously :-) I know, I know, I watch a lot of TV and I'm trying to cut back!
I love reading but haven't had the time to sit down with a book. I'm currently addicted to audio books - I've got Jean M. Auel's Earth's Children series on my iPod. Fascinating to learn about the world of Cro-Magnons and Neanderthals.
As for music, I'm receptive to anything... even country music!
