ABOUT ME

I'm German and live with my American wife and five cats in Ohio, in the U.S. I enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, sailing, kayaking, and I love watching animals in the wild (all kinds of animals: bugs, birds, big beasts). I work in zoo and aquarium design.

Intereses

I love to travel, to kayak, to sail, to do yoga, to meditate, to sketch, to write, to bird watch, to swim, to sauna, and to read (a lot).

Música, películas y libros

I've read the Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann about twenty times. He's one of my favorite authors and a good reason to be born German (actually, in my unpatriotic opinion, it's the only reason. I'm working hard to pick up the American way of life of taking it easy and relaxing; an ongoing project).

When I think about favorite English speaking authors the first names that come to mind are Jane Austen, Somerset Maugham, JK Rowling, LM Montgomery, Bruce Chatwin,John Irving, John Steinbeck, Lawrence Sterne,, JRR Tolkien, Michael Crichton, CS Forester...the list goes on.

I also like New Age books: Eckard Tolle, Louise Hay, Matthieau Ricard, Pema Chodron, Thich Nhat Hanh...

The most amazing experience was flying to the US for the first time and getting off the plane in Kansas. I thought it was the greatest thing ever and it lasted for at least a week - and still is one of my most treasured memories (I'm not trying to be funny here). Then there was my sailing around England and through Scotland.
