Chi sono

Hi! My name's Miguel and I'm working in the public health industry. Knowing that traveling overseas is an integral part of my job, I always make time to socialize and establish genuine connections with like-minded people.

I've started solo traveling in 2018 and never expected that I'd eventually love and keep doing it. As of this writing, I've already been to 34 countries (and counting!). Not to mention, 34 different stories of how I got lost as well! 😅

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

I'm here to meet people whom I could be friends with as well. Whenever I'm in a different country, I always look forward to language/culture exchanges with other travelers.

Musica, film e libri

I'm really into street jazz and RnB. As for movies, unusual as it may seem, I'm a sucker for RomComs. Books? Well, I do read SciFi ones occasionally.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

It was a freezing winter night in an unknown alley in Seoul and unlucky me had to deal with a dead mobile phone — which means no access to google maps. With my close-to-basic 한국어 말하기, I was able to ask for help from an old Korean couple. Definitely a night to remember as I realized two things: (1) I can finally use my Korean language skills and (2) I did not have to freeze myself in the streets of a foreign country

Insegna, impara, condividi

I'll be more than willing to share my people's culture with my future host/other co-CS friends. I think the benefit of traveling overseas isn't just exploring a new place, but also getting a chance to impart what you have to others.

And also, I can teach you my chocolate chip cookie recipe. So much better than Mrs. Fields (don't tell anybody!!!)

Cosa posso offrire ai padroni di casa

Pretty much anything that I could offer? Language exchange, itineraries, best food places...name it! Except for money I guess.
