Overview
About Me
My name is Miguel. I'm 23 and I come from Lisbon . Right now, I am living in Germany for an exchange year which will end in August.
One of the languages I had to learn for my Bachelor's was precisely German, that's why I specifically chose to come to Germany and improve my German, which I don't regret at all (despite being colder than Portugal but you can't have it all :) ).
I'm an easy going person, I love meeting new people, knowing new cultures, different mindsets. To see things I never saw before.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I want to be able to ally traveling with getting to know the actual culture of the place. I guess there is no better place for getting to know the culture of the actual city/region/country you're going to go to than Couchsurfing, because you will be in contact with someone native/experienced that can show you the best places cutting through all the touristy routes.
Hostels and Hotels may have other advantages but meeting new people and discovering that particular city culture is what I am most interested in.
On the receiver end, it just means that I can sort of travel without ever leaving home, which is also great.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Lord of the Rings trilogy (no, The Hobbit is not that good)
Music: I'm very open in what comes to music. I can listen to pretty much a bit of everything and if you'd have something new to show me, even better! I'll be to sure to show you some Portuguese "Fado" if you'd like to hear it.
Books: Socrates Apology, WWII history books, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
3 times national champion (Portugal) of youth chess championships and had the chance to play some years in World/European Cups abroad.
(also, not to brag, but.. once, I let a chip fall on the ground and 6 seconds passed... I still ate it)
Teach, Learn, Share
Absolutely everything that you might you want to teach me, I'm all ears. Your language, your culture, traditions, tipical recipes (yes please!). I can obviously showcase mine too.
Languages: want to improve my German, Spanish and French.
Can share knowledge of Portuguese and English quite well. Can also share some German and Spanish but not to a great extent (B2).
What I Can Share with Hosts
Language Knowledge, happiness, interest in life, portuguese recipes (by this time, if you have a very keen mind that can put some evidence together, you might have realized I really enjoy eating)
