About Me

I specifically maintain a flexible work schedule so that I can spend time organizing.

Recently I joined Critical Resistance (Prison Abolition) and completed the Bay Area Transformative Justice Collective's 6-session workshop, and I've been struck by both of their commitments to relationship-building and non-disposability as a means of reaching collective liberation. The folks in both these orgs are rad. Check them out!! <3 <3

Besides that I have a big family with lots of nibblings to see. They'resocute.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Until February 20, 2019 I'm visiting Japan with a friend. My friend grew up here for part of their life and speaks Japanese, which has been really helpful. We've been here one week already and someone suggested we get onto couchsurfing in order to get away from touristy things and to get to know real people instead.

We're interested in finding hosts and finding friends. (:

Music, Movies, and Books

Revolutionary Girl Utena.
Insecure.

bell hooks' "Feminism: From Margin to Center"

I was surprised to see bell hooks be *so* compassionate toward the men in her life (specifically black men, but she seemed compassionate toward men in general as well), while simultaneously being extremely critical of imperial feminism (which I wonder if today would be analogous to "white feminism"?). I think this book helped me decide that I want to put specific effort into working with men to learn how to nurture each other.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you would like to hear about prison abolition I can tell you all about it. It's both complicated and straightforward. There's a lot of nuance.

I would love to learn about how color is used in art and design––how to choose it, how people use it to convey different meanings.

I'm a very good cook.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you're into personality tests, I can help determine your enneagram personality type and then tell you all about what it **might** mean for you.

Countries I’ve Visited
