Hey there! I'm Miguel, a kind of Non-Digital Nomad! I'm originally from Lisbon, where I lived until my early 20's and started to study! At 23, I graduated as a Sculpture Student in Napoli, Italy, and embarked on my first solo adventure: a 3 month trip hitchhiking and busking across all over Europe .This adventure ignited a lifelong love for exploration and discovery.

While I've since moved on from busking, the pandemic provided an opportunity for me to pursue another passion: I became a Scuba Diving Instructor and have had the privilege of working and traveling across the globe not only with diving, but also with sculpture and in permaculture, regenerative, and bioconstruction projects. These not only connect me to my roots but also fuel my creativity.

I consider myself a very flexible and adaptive person, who fits in most environments, being it party or a chill, I find joy in every place I visit.

Back in Lisbon, my brothers and I have opened our doors to more than 15 people from various corners of the world, sharing our hospitality for cultural exchange

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurf absolutely changed my way of travelling and made my trips much better! It's like having a local friend everywhere! Its a good way to share experiences and knowledge with others and a amazing way to meet new people and make good friends!
It can be also almost like travelling without leaving my place! I can have really nice experiences and meet really nice people when I can't travel for any reason!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

From vulcanic eruptions to being surrounded by sharks, I feel lucky to have experienced and seen so many amazingly beautiful moments!

Also have done quite some things I think we're amazing like
helping hundreds of people discovering the underwater world; being lost in Incan ruins; or hitchiking all the way through 14 countries and more than 50 cities!

Teach, Learn, Share

I think I can share good moments, good company and good stories! I also think that now I am able to give some advises about hitchhike and some out of box travel tips.

I can teach you how to play Didgeridoo and do circular breathing, or why your ears hurt when you dive too deep!

About Learning? I am trying to improve my cooking skills, but in general I really like to learn, so please teach me everything! I am always willing to learn as much as possible from every corner of the world
