About Me
CURRENT MISSION
As Gandhi said: Being the change I want to see in the world
ABOUT ME
I'm a 35 years old mexican guy. I'm doing a PhD on Citizenship and Human Rights at the University of Barcelona. I like hosting and surfing but above that, I believe in community and solidarity. Doing simple and funny things like travel and host, we make the world a better place to live.
PHILOSOPHY
It's hard to say... I have been study Philosophy the last 12 years and I can't explain briefly my personal philosophy :S I'll say live, just live, in the way I want to.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I like to help people visiting Barcelona (or Mexico, or wherever I'm living); one hand could be the beginning of a long friendship, and for sure, no one unfriendly give a hand... Surf and host are both a great opportunity to explore community and sharing, ideas I believe in.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Unfortunately or not, CS reproduces the vices of our world: English speakers are prefered, just people who actually can afford a trip is traveling, white and nice people are prefered, anyone who could give us something in return are prefered... Nevertheless, like in the real life, there are people giving the best without thinking in rewards, appearances or prejudice, interested in host and share just for share and host, and this people are the real CS people and the reason I'm here ;)
Interests
I'm always interested in cultures, multiculturality and cities customs: what people do, what they like... Also I like non-turistical places, caffe, squares, Philosophy, Literature, Movies, chat and share with a good friend...

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies... Just not made in Hollywood :-| Music... I love music of the world, bossanova, tarantela, things like that ;) Books... It's a little harder... Paz, Vargas Llosa, Calvino, Eco, and my last discovery, Pynchon.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'd say the Pyrenees... Rome, Paris... also Oaxaca, Mexico and the amazing Mexico City, but I was really amazed, really really amazed, when my niece was born, I remembered her crying, was lovely, and that I realized that my little sister was already a woman :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a philosophy teacher, but not in the common sense, I consider philosophy could make the people happier and that people could find in the philosophy as source of life, a better way to live.
