About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To walk across Europe. One man. One pack.
ABOUT ME
Well, since I'm a poet, I wrote something describing where life is at so far, which in many ways contains all of where my life has been.
His Wild:
Away are the cities
away is the wilderness from here
All things away, blankly
he is alone in his own wild
He walks in the cities away from the cities
he walks in the wilderness away from the wilderness
What eye may see or eardrums rap
is only an affectation
some vibration touching his mind
But the cities are not real
the wilderness is not real
to a lost man who finds no permanency where he treads
What is real is that wild in himself
who is at once the border and the port of the world
who trammels through but one small part
of that nature within
from which a new earth struggles to arise
and planets falter to begin their orbits
and distant stars concatenate into constellations
that influence the patterns of animation within him
His days are not rotations of the earth
or a dialectic of day and night
heat and cool
yin and yang
but merely an observance of what cannot be reclaimed or touched ever again
a window into the most primitive mode of survival
yet functioning today:
movement
Below a waterfall he now bathes
but soon forgets this act
under so many waterfalls
What soil, what unhygienic excretions are not washed away?
Of all of what he was and where he was
where findeth he the whole of himself?
In the wilderness he shares
in the cities he shares
his vagrancy
his wandering
his pilgrimage
is symbolized
His whole movement is a metaphor of the true condition of his soul
What he processes of the world is the process
of creation, death and renewal in his soul
How wooden, how solid now is the culture he espoused
how unbroken tradition
how sacred the ethos of communication and propriety
and solid and unoriginal and unsympathetic
He cannot now live in houses of stone
nor will he gather his possessions and store them in concrete cellars
But he will leave on a journey
not a temporary vacation as though grounded at home
but as a pilgrim with no continuing residence
And through the wilderness and cities
in which he has been so parsed
he will live well
survive well
and cultivate for all generations after him
his own wild
Spirit moves the pieces that form an arrangement
that crystallizes over time into structure
and soon spirit assumes structure
becomes structure
and soon structure ossifies
and not long after its ossification dies
dissolves into fertile earth
whence after some time
finally, new spirit emerges transformed
and prepared to assume the predication of the former structure
without hardening
that it might be forever in a state of anticipation
and thus transformation
the antithesis
the opposite
the opposition of materiality
that mighty sovereign
now pervading
now ruling
now holding fast
his life
A voice clamors to enter through the walls
of his containments
that first he heard as legend
then began to believe
and now is frighteningly near
which speaks a knowledge known so long to the worlds he long shut out
that comes from the foreboding belly
beyond his frontiers
And now he is there
however long
lost in his wild
PHILOSOPHY
To emerge from my concealments
and kiss the face of day
to wander
till gardens
in its swaths
break forth
and the high-sun
flowers
bloom
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Just startin', hopefully I'll have a place soon enough to offer a surfer.
Interests
I'm a writer, poet, philosopher, romantic, and of course, a traveler. I love to read, non-fiction primarily. Love nature, philosophical discussion, campfires, live music (I am the cobra), sleeping on the floor, scenery, &c. And I would always suggest NOT going through a tour company. I recently graduated from university and now find myself drawn to the wandering life, adventuring and trying to find my niche. There is something about bread and mullets that I will never loose interest in...also yodeling. I like to climb on the terrain I hike through, and that might also say something about the way I think.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't listen to music much, usually whatever somebody else has playing; or I just channel surf until a song on the radio I like comes up.
