I’m Mika, a traveller from Finland. I love to meet new people, get new experiences and also challenge myself in the process. While travelling, I prefer meeting local people to sightseeing, and to experience the culture on a deeper level. I’m social, friendly and I do have a ton of interesting discussion topics.

Used to work, but decided to quit work some months ago to give more time to myself and my own projects. Now the current plan is to travel maybe around the world (at least around South America) during 2019, and maybe longer. I have no plans whatsoever, so I’ll go wherever the wind blows (to use a fitting cliche ;).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

On my travels I prefer to couchsurf over all else. Couchsurfing has always been among the highlights of my trips, as it's a great way to meet people from other cultures, get to know them and their culture, share something about my own culture and have lots of fun! Meeting other couchsurfing members over a coffee has also been nice.

I have been couchsurfing for example in Africa, India, Hong Kong, USA, Mexico, Europe etc. Also sometimes hosted myself in Finland.

Nowadays mostly electronic music like house, disco, minimal techno, psytrance, edm, etc. Also rap music, hip hop, some rock and pop.

Maybe the best ever: With a close friend and a can of wine, looking at the sunrise on a mountaintop over the Adriatic Sea.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy to learn about all new things. Especially about cultures, places, people etc. I myself know a lot about travelling, economics, investing, nature, sports and so on.
