About Me

Hello, everyone. I'm Mika, and I've been working as a freelance Japanese teacher online while traveling in Japan. I teach students from diverse backgrounds, and I always find joy in teaching and engaging in conversations with them. Additionally, I want to be a tour guide.

In the past, I've held various roles such as an office worker, a pub waitress, and hotel staff. I would describe myself as calm, curious, and someone who loves to try new things, explore, and seek adventure.

Here are some of my experiences abroad:

I spent 2 years working as a customer service representative at an English center in Hanoi, Vietnam. I've also had the opportunity to travel to several Southeast Asian countries, including Thailand, Vietnam, and Myanmar, as well as spend a month in India. I've explored South Korea and Taiwan as well, with most of my travels being solo backpacking adventures.

In my free time, I enjoy watching professional wrestling, particularly Japanese wrestling and AEW. I love reading books and writing essays. I also like going out for drinks, playing the bass guitar (I'm a beginner), and listening to music.

One of my passions is learning about different cultures and languages while meeting new people, even though I'm shy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First and foremost, I want to expand my horizons through travel. My travel style involves immersing myself in the local culture, rather than just sightseeing. I prefer to experience how people live in a particular country. I enjoy having conversations with local residents, and that's why I believe this is a fantastic opportunity for me.

While I've never used Couchsurfing before, I'm confident that it will introduce me to many wonderful people. I'm excited about the prospect of connecting with you and sharing some amazing moments.
If you are interested in Japanese, I'd love to teach you!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite genre is Rock (alternative rock, punk).
City pop ( I like 70's to 90's Japanese pops.My favourite singers are Kenji Sawada, Akina Nakamori etc, .)
Favourite movie's genres are crime, suspense, human dramas.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done is witnessing the breathtaking night view in Jaisalmer, India.
Another amazing experience was teaching Japanese to my favorite pro wrestler.
