ABOUT ME
Well, where to begin...
I am human. I am idealistic, curious, adventurous, and above all else: searching for the wisdom, compassion, and knowledge that flourishes in the well-traveled heart. I like to live on the edge of possibility and know myself best when I walk along the breaking-point.
I come from the lush green forests of western North America, but have become some sort of strange wingless migratory bird, traveling from place to place as I take time to find myself after graduating highschool. Soon I plan to go to University to study engineering, with a focus in high level mathematics, mechanics, and design. I am an aspiring artist, avid reader, cook, hiker, sailor, slack-liner, hulahoop dancer, snowboarder, star gazer, music lover. Living for me means walking until I can't feel my feet, water, color, moving my body to loud music, long midnight conversations, spirituality, finding kindred souls, mountains, and enjoying the beauty of loneliness.
I thrive on the continuous change and challenge of traveling. I have been on the road since January, and as the months go by I watch myself change. Accepting the dark circles beneath my eyes from sleepless nights, worn hands, dusty feet, carrying my life with me on my back. Some places I stays for weeks, others a day, a month even once or twice, but movement is constant and necessary in the never ending search for joy, struggle, contentment, life. It's a process of discovery, fueled by the people I meet and the new ideas they present.
As a guest I am very quiet, flexible, and easy going. As a person I am vocal, communicative, personable, and self assured. I love people, and look for the good in everyone. I am blunt and honest; if there is an issue, tell me, I can handle it, and I will do you the same courtesy.
Also, on the note of what I am like as a guest: I cook, as I mentioned. Cooking is my way of telling people I like them, that I care. I enjoy to do it, especially for other people, and when I am able I like to make and share at least one meal with my hosts. Food is a universal language that everyone understands. I make a lot of eastern, Asian, and Mexican inspired cuisine and I don't eat gluten, soy, or much animal products, so be prepared for some experimentation!
PHILOSOPHY
That Truth exists. That everything has meaning; every action is important and should have purpose. I believe that truly living means engaging in a constant struggle to be kind, to be grateful, to be courageous. I believe that life is hard, but that the fight that makes it worthwhile.
