About Me

Hello hello!

I'm vegan, feminist and queer. I'm an open-minded, easy-going, food-addicted and sleep-lover person. I like connecting to people, especially with travelers. I like the Couchsurfing mindset, and I prefer it when surfers don't consider my flat like a hostel where everything is free, but rather as staying with a friend and showing some good manners with hosts 😊 You don't have to spend every waking minute with me, but please don't be out all day and showing up only to sleep.

I’m a baker, which means I go to sleep at 8 and wake up at 4, then leave at 5, and I need the key to close the door, which is why I cannot host you during the week, otherwise you have to be out at the same time as me. I’m more flexible from Friday to Sunday.

Additionally I have a tight sleep schedule that I don’t want to deviate from, the only day I’m a bit more relaxed about the sleeping schedule is on Thursdays when I go to a language cafe, to which you’re more than welcome to come, and then of course on the weekend I also go to bed a bit later, but basically if you stay with me, it’s no noise after 8 during the week and after 10 during the weekend. And please don’t come if you snore!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

However I can. I really like meeting people and have them visit my city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've not been hosted a lot of times (I'd say less than 10) but I loved the experience each time. There's a place in Angouleme, where I go back every year (it's been three years now) for a comic festival, and always with the same guy. It's 4 days of craziness, everybody talking about comics and making food from their country. I love doing Couchsurfing when I can connect with a lot of people at the same time.

Interests

I like learning about different types of food from all around the world, so I’m often doing a week of cultural food, like food from Ethiopia, Vietnam, Japan, etc. I’m keen to learn about and taste international food when I’m travelling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There was this tattoo artist from Tahiti who was living in Barcelona while I was living in Madrid. I knew that he would make my next tattoo but I didn’t know when. For three years I followed his work online. Then I got a job interview for Greece and I was supposed to be on a plane in the next week. I contacted that tattoo artist who told me that the only availability he had was in two months or…. The next day! I took that next day appointment, and a few hours later I was in a blablacar. We rode during the night and I arrived in Barcelona at 5 am. I was dead tired but I took that last day in Barcelona (for a while) to visit a girl I had met a few months earlier doing activism, and got the opportunity to get to know her more. On the afternoon I went to the tattoo studio and had a blast talking with the guy about our life back home (Tahiti). It was so nice to meet a Tahitian in Spain and I got a very nice third tattoo 😊 I was supposed to spend the evening with my friend and hitchhike back to Madrid around midnight, but I had so much fun with my friend that I decided to spend the night at her place so we could have more time together. The next day I went back to Madrid, very glad of my short visit to Barcelona. I had a new tattoo, a new very good friend, and good memories of the awesome few hours I had spent there. This is amazing because I’m usually a person who plans everything and who hates to do unexpected things. But I let it go for that trip and even though it didn’t last a long time, it was still amazing. Now I try to be more open to unexpected things.
