I am Mikael and I love the couchsurfing community. The small things like coffee and taking walks in the woods are things I enjoy frequently. I spend my time outside of work drawing, on the water kayaking, with family, and playing cards.

I describe myself as down-to-earth, compassionate towards humans and animals (I am a vegetarian), patient, and goofy. I love adventures and cartoons. And coffee:)

2017:

Who's up for round 3? Making out West again this fall and super stoked! My best friend in college and 2 sisters and hopefully brother will be traveling Idaho and Oregon October 3-11. Are plans are loose at the moment as we want to go with the flow this trip and get in some beautiful hikes along the way. Please consider hosting us if you would like to be entertained; we are a super easygoing, happy, and considerate group!! Hope to see you soon.

2016:
Last year was so much fun and we stayed with mainly friends and family in Utah and Colorado and couch-surfed in Nebraska. We decided to take another trip in the US to hike in California. My best friend and I along with my brother and sister. We plan on visiting Yosemite, the Redwoods, and San Fran. Hope to see you soon!

2015:
To meet like minded people while traveling. I am taking a road trip across the US this fall and I hope to find couch surfers to host me along the way. One of my younger sisters has highly recommended this site and I look forward to meeting some wonderful folks to share stories with.

Interests

The outdoors, kayaking, hiking, reading, drawing cartoons, telling corny jokes.

I am passionate about drawing, especially cartoons. I am also passionate about health and nutrition. I love informing others about my vegetarian lifestyle and learning about nutrition, whenever possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music ranges from alternative to country, classic rock, oldies, and indie.
Movies I enjoy tend to be feel-good flicks. I also enjoy action movies (Dad films), cartoons, Sci-Fi, and the occasional Christmas Hallmark movie (Thanks, Mom).
Books I read are almost all adventure/fantasy driven. I love long series and characters I can get addicted to. My most recent series I've read was the Gone Series...so good!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent part of a recent summer hiking a section of the AT, meeting new friends and hanging out on the East Coast, and hitchhiking back home to MI with 3 friendly truck drivers. I'd probably never do it again, though!

I enjoy talking about nutrition, I've studied European history, I love to draw, and I could spend all day sharing stories about my family and adventures.
