About Me

Hi! I’m Mikail, a Site Reliability Engineer from St. Louis, USA. I’m passionate about traveling, meeting new people, and learning about different cultures. I love soccer, working out, running, hiking and I’m always up for an adventure or a deep conversation over coffee. I believe in the power of shared experiences and making new friends from all over the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe that the best way to experience a new place is through the eyes of a local. I love the idea of cultural exchange, and I enjoy both hosting travelers and being a guest. I’m here to connect with like-minded people, share stories, and create unforgettable memories.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a diverse taste in music, but some of my favorite genres include jazz, classical, and pop. I love listening to different artists, and I’m always on the lookout for new music recommendations. I also enjoy live music and try to catch a concert whenever I’m traveling.

I’m a big fan of movies that make you think or tell a unique story. Some of my all-time favorites are The Italian Job and Pulp Fiction. I also enjoy foreign films and documentaries that offer a different perspective on the world. Movie nights with friends are one of my favorite ways to relax.

I love getting lost in a good book. I enjoy reading both fiction and non-fiction, especially books that explore philosophy, history, or human nature. I’m always open to book recommendations!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved to the United States from Turkey for my college education.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to make Turkish food & about Turkey. I’m eager to learn more about your culture and any hidden gems in your city. I’m always ready to share my experiences and hear yours.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my experiences and stories from my travels, teach you a bit about Turkish culture and Turkish language, and even cook a meal from my home country. If you’re into soccer, we can definitely catch a match together or have a friendly kickabout!
