Sobre mí

So I grew up on the North coast of sunny, beautiful, often rainy Wales, you should visit if you get the chance, it's actually realy nice in the sun or snow, (shame thats bot so often!) and i have loads of recommendations of places to visit.

These days it has been said that i like to live life in the slow lane sometimes.. taking time to enjoy whats happening and appreciate not getting too caught up in the rush (there is so much uneccasary stress in the world!).. but i can also enjoy speeding things up and i'm usualy being productive and proactive in some way too. I like spontaneity, walking, talking, learning, reading, adventure, music and some other things haha hope that sums me up!

Life at the moment is mostly about travel, taking a bit of distance from the regular school, university (I studied linguistics.. and graduated), work etc. taking advantage of my youth and seeing different countries, lifestyles and cultures, figuring out what's important and getting to know the world and improve myself.

I was recently at a nice little workaway farm in the Sierra Nevada, living off the grid for a month enjoying incredible views and learning what it takes to live in self sufficiency, in the moment and out of the society. I really enjoyed seeing life from this perspective and getting out of the 'real world' for a while.

I started this adventure in Australia where i spent a year working and travelling through snow, sun and desert, followed by south east asia and a quick stop back to Wales for a few weeks before Spain, Still working on the next location (i do have my eyes on south America now though). Right now im realy enjoying making my way around the south coast of Spain, camping, seeing beaches, hiking around, and making friends.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

When I moved to Spain to teach English a few years ago I discovered cs. I thought it was awesome, you never know what you might experience, or which awesome diverse people you might meet and i think it's the mystery factor that draws me most to couchsurfing.

Otherwise its the typical: good people, conversations that the rest of the world sometimes seems to be avoiding, mystery and an opportunity to learn from each other. But whilst I'm in Spain i want to try to keep practising Spanish with hosts too!

When I get the opportunity, I'd love to give back to the community and host you all in return, when/wherever that may be!

Intereses

In Wales I like to enjoy the outdoors with friends, camping, exploring and that kind of thing. I also got into rock climbing for a couple of years, and try to keep it up when travelling.

I like to keep at least 1 book with

In general these days I'm a lot happier out in the nature and when it's sunny haha but I can appreciate the city too.

I became vegetarian 2 years ago and got more into cooking, but I'm flexible as a guest and can sort my own food or cook us something vegetarian..

Always looking to add to the list or find people to enjoy these things with, when travelling i miss being able to get into the hobbies regularly!

Música, películas y libros

Films:

I recently saw Life in a Day and Captain Fantastic and thought they were interesting ideas. Anything thought provoking, documentaries this kind of thing. But also comedy always works for me and travel films..

Books

Life of pi, barefoot doctor, Vagabonding by Rolf Potts, Ekhart Tolles books.

National Geographic magazine is always useful

I love live music and festivals of all kinds, but I mostly listen to bands, rock/indie/progressive/acoustic, love finding something new, recently discovered king gizzard and the lizzard wizard.

Algo increíble que he hecho

Hitchhiking around south east asia both solo and as a group of 7 at times! I've never seen so many westerners in the back of a pickup..

Enseña, aprende, comparte

If you have a guitar and don't know how to play then I can teach you a couple of things! Or if I host you then feel free to play mine

Travel tips like hitch hiking etc.

My job in Spain was to teach English so I'm happy to help with english 👍

I can also share a bit of the Welsh language (Cymraeg) and can just about pronounce the name of that town you've probably heard of with the long name.

On my last workaway i learned a bit about mindfulness and meditation and chigung, could teach you a little about this, i like this kind of existentialism topic.

And as I said, happy to cook :)

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones
