Overview
About Me
I'm a language enthusiast who is into every field of linguistics and language learning.
Also, I like the early music (European music during renaissance and baroque period). I sometimes organise some events and tours related to language, cultural exchange and/or early music.
PERSONALITY
I'm a curious person who wants to see various aspects of the world and its people.
Perhaps I'm a little bit shy at first, but I soon get used to a new environment.
TRAVELLING
When travelling, I like visiting where locals go rather than touristic places because I'm interested in how locals live there. (That's why I joined this site!)
My favourite places for sightseeing are supermarkets, book stores, libraries and schools.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet local people and to find how they live there.

Having grown up in a monolingual culture myself, I've been fascinated by other kinds of languages, including Japanese dialects, since childhood. (I was the sort of kid who wondered why Japanese only had 5 vowels.)
I'm currently learning Korean.
My blog: http://japan.micarie.com/
(mainly writing about the Japanese language in English)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I stayed in Ireland to learn the Irish trad music, I joined a local rock band and played the violin. We had some live gigs and recording there.
When visiting India, I stayed with local families living in countryside where visitors from abroad hardly visited. Enjoyed time with kids and animals. I also visited some local schools.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm an English teacher and also I can teach Japanese as I'm a native speaker of it. I love figuring out the finer details of these languages! :)
