About Me

I'm a pretty relaxed guy. I work out of the startup office in Dunedin and am a property developer here also... Well I was until the banks here changed a few rules so now I'm about to take a year or two off. Found this cool wee site and through I better play it forward!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My man and I are spending 2017 on tour, first by living in our van and traveling NZ for two months, we're super lucky to live in such a beautiful country so it seemed important to spend some time checking that out, but then we're heading to south east Asia for the remainder of the year.

Currently, I live in one of my flats that's rented for next year, but we have a few spare rooms and when I discovered this site it made sense to play it forward before we leave!

Music, Movies, and Books

These are some of the books that have helped me make it possible to take a year or two off;

Rich dad poor dad, Robert Kiyosaki (good inspiration)
The four hour work week, Tim Ferris
Ho to win friends and influence people, Dale Carnegie

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 18, living in a small sleepy town of Gisborne where a train only came through once a week, my friends and I once found a shunting engine unlocked.

We figured out how to turn it on, start it and eventually how to drive it. We then took it for a joy ride half a dozen times until the law caught us.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm passionate about helping others figure out how to escape the shackles of employment well before they're 65!

I've managed it (I'm 32 now and can't figure out how to change my age) and with the tools of collaboration and sharing available online now, I'm going to spend my life trying to help others who are prepared to make it a core focus get there too.... So then they can travel and explore forever as well!

What I Can Share with Hosts

stories, financial wisdom, a bedroom (at the moment), home brew and if I'm not booked up the most amazing sights of Dunedin.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cambodia, China, Cook Islands, Indonesia, Singapore

Countries I’ve Lived In

New Zealand
