Overview
About Me
Since 2014, I graduated from Rutgers with a BA in Psychology, worked on a farm in Fairlee, VT, completed a service year with AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps in the midwest, and am currently working as a Behavioral Health Specialist with individuals with developmental disabilities in Northern New Jersey. During my time in AmeriCorps NCCC, I volunteered in IA, MN, MI, WI, and IN, in that order, on projects that involved environmental stewardship, energy conservation, and urban and rural development. My current job is a typical 40-hour-per-week commitment where I support the individuals served as they live primarily independently with assistance transporting, grocery shopping, budgeting, and accomplishing individual goals.
When I'm not working, I love to garden, cook, spend time with my friends, family, and dog, watch drama movies, read the news, scroll through Facebook (admittedly), and watch the natural beauty of the world around me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My girlfriend and I are on a 5-week road trip traveling from NW New Jersey, down to New Orleans, LA, back up to Denver, CO, and then back across the country to Vermont, and everywhere in between! We're looking to meet new people, explore and see more of the country we call home, and (hopefully) volunteer and farm wherever we land/spend the night! All of this on a budget! We'd love to stay with you!

Music, Movies, and Books
For films, I'm mostly into slower dramas and some comedies. Some of my favorite movies include "Good Will Hunting," "Forest Gump," "Into The Wild," and "Ace Ventura."
Listening to music, my favorite genres would be hip-hop, jazz, and folk. Favorite artists include James Taylor, Van Morrison, Kanye West, and Jack Johnson. I am trying experience more live music events and more varieties of sounds! I'd like to listen to anything you put on.
Books and I have a relationship that is inconsistent and I doubt unusual. When I actually have the mindfulness and the patience to read I enjoy scientific, philosophical, poetic, and adventurous writing.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I guess "amazing" is subjective, but one of the coolest things I've experienced was while serving in Milwaukee, WI with Habitat for Humanity, I was living with my team about three miles away from the western shore of Lake Michigan. With that said, I knew that there would be immaculate sunrises over the water, so a couple of mornings I would wake up around 4:30 and run those three miles to get to see the sunrise slowly creep up over the water. It was "amazing" in my opinion! I'm attaching a photograph to my profile for anyone interested in what I saw!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to listen to other peoples' stories, thoughts, and ideas and share some of my own. I like to cook! I like to complete manual labor and am happy to mow your lawn, trim your hedges, do whatever yard work or cleaning up around your house that you may need done! I can play one Sublime song for you or Cat Stevens on guitar. I also was in a massage club called "Stressbusters" in college, so I am qualified to help you feel a bit more relaxed.
Countries I’ve Visited
Costa Rica, Guatemala, Israel, Mexico, Virgin Islands, U.S.
