About Me

I live on a farm in the NJ pine barrens when I’m not traveling out of the USA.
I like to swim, ski, and cycle tour. I recently solo cycle toured France, Spain, Sardegna, Corsica, and Cap Verd. I also did some blue water sailing. I’m very happy to accept up to 2 non-smoking guests in my home . Or if u smoke, you could camp here, I have many acres. There is very nice cycling here, a clean lake, and world class beaches nearby. I have a mechanic shop here and can help you with cycle repair.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To help travelers in need of a place to stay and to meet interesting long haul cyclists. Also, to be able to find a place to stay in uncampable locations.

Music, Movies, and Books

Falling Down was pretty great. I like classical music , Particularly as transposed for saxophone. Love Fado, Spanish and South American guitar ( I play). Ska and reggae are great. Not into USA country music unless it’s quite old. Soul and blues are great and Hendrix, classic rock. Not into some rap. Books - I read all the time , mainly history and biology. Currently reading a book on Russian women fliers of the Great Patriotic War. Like black and white movies for the clarity. Kurosawa and Fellini are classics. Love Rick and Morty.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can’t say it’s amazing but skiing all over Europe on my own as a teenager was pretty fantastic . It was long enough ago to be during the “great age” of skiing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people carpentry , plumbing, electrical installation, auto/motorcycle repair and restoration. Can teach off the grid living, farming. Can teach clinical research. Solid knowledge of Kung fu- can teach self defense and balance. Of course can teach skiing and swimming and cycling.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Fix, repair or build pretty much anything. Help running a farm. Some basic wisdom, lots of stories and jokes.
