Overview
About Me
I'm a 26 year old grad student just coming to the end of my PhD. I love taking the opportunity to travel and have been to lots of interesting places around the world for work and pleasure.
I have a busy social life and love going to music events (especially festivals). I'm a biologist (specifically a microbiologist) by trade so I know lots about the natural world and our place within it. I love the outdoors and enjoy stuff like nature reserves, botanical gardens and camping. I also have an interest in foraging and can identify quite a few edible plant and mushroom species.
I'm also independent, compassionate and not afraid to rock the boat. I want to use my skills and experience to make the world a better place. I've recently started my own outreach project providing harm reduction advice and substance identification tests to young people in the Cardiff area to reduce drug-associated harms. I also go to schools to give kids the chance to take part in fun science experiments to increase their participation in STEM.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When travelling I prefer to stay with local hosts. Getting to know someone new makes a trip much more exciting and also lets me discover hidden gems which are off the radar for most tourists.
