About Me

i'm a detroit dog. I guess i could start by saying i dont think people should try and describe themselves too seriously on the internet, i feel so much is unaccounted for and its impossible to get a vibe from someone without being in the same room together with your heartbeats bouncing off of each other and your energies mixing and mingling and creating. Everybody's story is too long and unique to accurately paint a picture in a block of text.

but to tell you where im at right now is I just quit my job as a bartender to travel, get lost, hike, see some natural beauty, see some cities and create new experiences hopefully all over the world and hopefully with you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I came to surf couches!

After years of living in a house where we hosted all sorts of fascinating couchsurfers from all over the world, mainly and especially around the time of MOVEMENT, our world class electronic music festival here in detroit. I came to realize what an amazing resource Couchsurfing is.

Aside from the implied awesomeness of commodity swapping, the walls of language barriers and cultural differences are almost always and immediately shattered when meeting new surfers and that to me is the greatest value this has to offer. This resource brings like minded people from all types of cultures together and enables them to connect and share experiences that may have otherwise never happened.

I wont soon forget many of the experiences i've shared with surfers over the years and that, you could say is why im here now. To create new ones, hopefully with the kind people of Oz as this is my first time truly traveling abroad.
(please pardon the brand new profile as like i said all of my hosting was done via roommates account and this is my first time on the surfing end)

Music, Movies, and Books

Pretty much any hip-hop that came out of the east or west coast during the 90's is gold to me. Still lots of love for the midwest and my favorite Detroit homies, J Dilla and the Slum Village crew, Danny Brown, and Eminem.
I would love to just type out all my favorite hip hop groups and rappers in a giant wall of text like this was Myspace but i'll spare you. but if you ever want to talk hip hop i'm here for you. Seriously.

as far as movies i tend to gravitate towards sci-fi/horror but mostly i just rewatch the x-files, breaking bad and trailer park boys.

Unfortunately there seems to be an inverse relationship with the amount of time i spend on the internet and the amount of time i spend reading books and the former has been winning that attention game for a while now. but to name a few of my favorite writers I'd say Bret Easton Ellis, Kurt Vonnegut and Henry Miller.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you to make some bad ass cocktails or chess moves

Love to learn about people and where they're from

I prefer to share insights over stories and i prefer stories that are insightful
