About Me

My name is Michail, and I spend most of my time outdoors doing different kinds of sports. I’ve been doing CrossFit for the last five years (with a few breaks), I enjoy running, and I recently discovered climbing..

When I’m home, you’ll usually find me watching movies, cooking for myself or for friends, and exploring new ideas & doing a bit of writing

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For the past few years, I’ve had a strong urge to travel, meet new cultures, connect with people, and have meaningful conversations. Unfortunately, traveling for a whole year isn’t realistic for me , it costs money and requires a lot of time.

Couchsurfing felt like the perfect alternative. I host people I find interesting, share a meal together, exchange stories, and enjoy good company. It’s a great way to bring the world into my home.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don’t really have a favorite music genre , I listen to anything that makes me feel good. That includes some Greek rap, artists like Passenger, and even metal like Iron Maiden. So yes, a bit of everything.

As for movies, two of my favorites are Good Will Hunting and Coach Carter. Both inspired me in different ways: one about understanding yourself, the other about discipline, purpose, and helping people reach their potential.

I don’t read a lot, but I can recommend Nikos Kazantzakis , especially Ascetics and Zorba the Greek.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I’m in Greece, I usually go spearfishing. One of my favorite experiences was in the summer of 2025: I packed one of those huge army bags with water, grabbed a hammock, and went camping alone on a remote beach with no phone signal.

For three days, the plan was to lived only on what I managed to catch. It was challenging, peaceful, and unforgettable. If we meet, I can share the whole story

Teach, Learn, Share

Besides stories from Greece and travel, I love talking about how people learn. I’ve spent a lot of time exploring different learning methods, and I can show you a simple approach I use to learn things faster and keep the process fun.

Of course, we can also cook together, laugh, explore the city, or just have a relaxed conversation. I think anyone can find something interesting in our time together.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’ve collected a lot of stories over the years, mostly from the sea ,I know quite a bit about marine life, fishing, and the ocean.

But something new I’ve discovered recently is cooking. I didn’t start cooking until I was 25, and it opened a whole new world for me. Now I can make several good recipes, including dishes like spinach pie, dumplings or quesedillas
