My name is Mike, I'm an adventure loving student, keen for tough challenges. I am comfortable in most environments but most at home by a river in my hammock with a beer!

I love big projects, whether it's a new sport, a computer animation or learning an instrument. I'm currently addicted to slacklining and almost always keep my gear handy!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd love to meet new people, be it through hosting or being hosted. Between June and September I will be travelling around Europe in my van and would love to socialise with friendly, like-minded people.

Interests

My passions currently revolve around slacklining. I love finding new places to rig a line, especially if it's above warm water! I'm enthralled by Neuroscience and Psychology, I'm always trying to learn more about how they control our behaviour, you will rarely find me without a book on the subjects close by!

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste ranges from electronic to classic rock, my favourite artists are The Rolling Stones, Justice and Crystal Fighters.

I like a lot of different movies and series, from comedy to horror. If you were to walk in on me watching TV, it would likely be Black Mirror, Hannibal or House.

I'm a big reader of non-fiction, books like The Man Who Mistook His Wifes Head For A Hat, Thinking Fast and Slow and When Breath Becomes Air are my favourites. However, I also enjoy classics, such as Brave New World.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Accidentally holding a Tetris world record for two days was an oddly gratifying experience, one too many high school days spent trying not to be caught by the teacher playing on games!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm enthused by new experiences and am keen to learn new sports, puzzles and games thrown my way! I love to teach people to slack and am hooked by meaningful conversations, regardless of what they're about.
