Overview
About Me
My name is Mike. Currently a Peace Corps Volunteer in Lesotho, Southern Africa, teaching ESL. Grew up in Michigan, USA. Son of South Korean immigrant parents. Love to laugh, enjoy a nice cold IPA, like being surrounded by people that are undoubtedly smarter than me, enjoy conversations where we "get into it". How do you write about yourself without sounding terribly condescending or corny?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
On couchsurfing because I'll be travelling through Europe after I finish up here in Lesotho. Hope to experience various places through the eyes of locals instead of just touristy things.
Interests
Love music of all kinds (is there anything worse than somebody that says they love all music?). But to not be too generic, I'll say I don't like most Country music or EDM, but EDM has been growing on me. Also enjoy playing music (guitar, drums, keyboards, singing).
I love comedy, particularly stand up of Mike Birbiglia, Louis CK, Tig Notaro, John Mulaney, Hannibal Buress, and others
Sports, although I am not as invested in futbol as much as a supposed citizen of the world should (cringed at the pretentiousness of an American writing 'futbol' instead of 'soccer').
Lastly, I'll say I love the outdoors. There's nothing like getting lost in all different kinds of wilderness. Although setting off on a known path in said wilderness is not bad either.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Not one thing, but my time living in Lesotho has been incredible. One of the few instances that both in present moments and retrospect, I'm stunned.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Some limited cooking abilities: I'll be your sous chef. I also make some mean tortillas
I'll try and make you laugh if we're comfortable enough. Otherwise I'll still try but probably fail and you can kick me to the curb.
I can also play you a ditty or two/partake in a good ol' fashioned jam sesh if you have an instrument or two laying around.
