Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To expand my horizons by traveling around the world, meeting new people and drinking in new places
ABOUT ME
I'm a 26 year old who lived as an expat for a year in Bratislava, teaching English with a grant from the U.S. government. I played rugby in college, and now am big on running, yoga, fitness, and all kinds of sports. I love to read and write, especially comedy, watch episodes of Parks and Rec that I've already seen twice, and explore the wonderful city of Chicago!
Mostly I like having fun and talking with new people, and I try to be open and get along with everyone.
PHILOSOPHY
If I allow myself to get completely comfortable, stop meeting new people and trying things that scare me, I've given up on expanding and evolving my personality, and that's the point of life. Except rock climbing. I'm never trying that shit again.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hosted people in Bratislava, stayed with people in Europe, and am open to hosting people again now in my Chicago apartment. I'm also looking to meet and maybe stay with people in my upcoming trip to central Europe (Berlin, Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna, and Prague).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted about 5 times and have stayed with other people two or three time

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I watched a live taping of Judge Mathis in Chicago. He doled out (street) justice like none other. They admitted to us before the taping that the judgments were not legally binding, and that the bailiff was a standup comedian, and as it turned out, a very very bad one.
It was one of the most diverse groups of people I've ever seen: blacks, whites, asians, hispanics, and more black people were all there in the interest of watching true retribution take place for the crimes of humanity, and because the tickets were free.
I remember a man, wearing a tie of the stars and bars draped over an American flag cut-off t-shirt, pulling a rubber chicken out of a briefcase.
To answer the question I'm sure you're asking, yes, I have considered having children for the sole purpose of telling them about this experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you read this paragraph, thought this site was trying a little too hard, and chuckled to yourself, you are the kind of person I want to hang out with:
"This is the beginnings of the future CouchSurfing University, a school where everyone's a student and everyone's a teacher. Surfing isn't just about a place to sleep. It's about exchange. From esoteric knowledge to practical skills, you have special knowledge that others will benefit from knowing...Teach. Learn. Share. Let's do this."
Still, I've had nothing but great CouchSurfing experiences.
