He you!

As you see my name is Mike van Leeuwen. I currently live in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. This is the oldest city of the whole(!) country. It's a lovely city to life because of the social environment. The people are nice, helpful and open-minded. There are a lot of creative activities that everybody can visit.

Right now I am still studying for social worker, specialized in youth. This year is a fulltime internship and after that my graduation is coming close!

When I was 18 I didn't know what to study so I decided to have a gap year. I went to South-Africa to volunteer and backpacking. Best experience of my life until now, and when I came back I wanted to explorer the world. See more countries, cultures, people, buildings, area's just everything! But.. I knew if I would have done it at that moment, going back to school would become more difficult every day. So I decided to study first and after that (like I said it's already coming close) explorer everything our beautiful world has to offer.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

People from all over the world stayed at my place, they did this by contacting me on Facebook, because foreign friends of mine told them to contact me. But Couchsurfing is so much easier! I want to meet new people, learn your language no matter what language it is, have conversations about your home and my home, you're culture and my culture, etc. I want to share my love for the place where I live, show or tell you the spots that are amazing (but would never be mentioned by tourism offices) and hope that people will do the same with the places where they live and love.
