About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Sort it all out

ABOUT ME

After a long time working in Central America and Russia as an English teacher I've returned to Australia. Right now I'm just trying to establish myself with work and study. I hope through couchsurfing I can continue do what I love most about travelling - meeting great people from all walks of life from all over the world.

PHILOSOPHY

I am very grateful to be alive, and soon I'll be gone forever. I try live my life the best way I can. I love to hear different opinions on issues because I believe the best way to learn is through dialog. It's important to keep an open mind and question everything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In the past I've mostly used couchsurfing to meet people for a drink or whatever. Now that I have a place in Brisbane I like the idea of hosting people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My experiences with couchsurfing have all been good, some very good. I've even made good friends through couchsurfing and I hope I will make many more.

Interests

My interests are so broad that they're quite difficult for me to sum up, but I guess I would say the world around us and travelling. I am also into bicycle touring, it's the best way to see a country. I can scuba dive and ski but it's not often I get to do these things. I love the outdoors, hiking and camping are both things I'm into. I love learning. I enjoy being a language teacher, languages and how people learn learn them are fascinating.

Music, Movies, and Books

I mostly read non-fiction but recently I have started to make an effort to read classic literature. For me what makes a good movie is if that movie 'sticks' with you. If you're still thinking about a movie you saw 2 days ago you know it had something to say. As for music my taste in music is quite broad hard to define, (I think the question "What kind of music do you like?" is stupidest question anyone can ask ever) I never seem to be able to keep up with the names of artists and songs even if I listen to them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hard to choose just one, but I the Carnaval in Rio de Janerio was great! Running with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain was pretty exciting to. I have travelled to a lot of countries. I went on a bicycle tour from Costa Rica to Peru, I loved it! I'm keen to do more cycling in the future. Living overseas from Russia to Central America for almost 4 years was quite an experience. My time in the army allowed me to see some places and do some stuff I would never have had the opportunity to see or do otherwise.
