À propos de moi

In the last few years I
-quit sound recording, became and worked as a programmer
-traveled in Nepal (where I trekked near Mount Everest and volunteered at a middle school to teach computer science) and in India (where I heard the Dalai Lama speak in Bodh Gaya -- the place where Buddha became enlightened 2600 years ago).

I'm currently independently studying machine learning and brushing up on some mathematics and trying to break into the world of AI.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've Couchsurfed a few times during my travels in the States and met some great people. It was a great alternative to hostels and camping, however I rarely did it because I usually wouldn't decide where I'd be going next until a day or two ahead of time.

Centres d'intérêt

Very broadly I'm interested in living a healthy and stimulating life--constructing, learning, and keeping physically and mentally agile.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

The best book I've read in a while is called Being Different, by Rajiv Malhotra. This is a challenging (to a Western reader) comparison of Western and Indian cultural heritages. Music? I like funky stuff like Soulive, but that was more in the past. Most recently I've listened to a lot of Above & Beyond while programming, and I'm also a huge Mahler fan in general.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I took a 4-month road-trip spanning the entire US (and a ways into Canada) Rocky Mountains before returning to Miami (where I was working at the time). Also I backpacked for several months in South America. Both were solo trips. Now I've also been in Nepal and India.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I could teach programming, chess, and about classical music (I worked for several years in this field as a recording engineer).
