About Me
CURRENT MISSION
LIVE FOR THE JOURNEY... NOT THE DESTINATION
ABOUT ME
Cristina- I'm a senior at the University of Texas at Austin graduating May 09 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology: Ecology & Evolution. I'll be interning at the Smithsonian's Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C. this fall, working with the Curator of Fishes. (I'm very excited about this!!!) I want to see this world from every angle... from rushing towards it while skydiving, to exploring its underwater worlds, to spelunking (someday hopefully) and since I'm not a millionaire seeing it from space might not be practical... but anything is possible! I want to live life with the understanding that we are all different, and THAT is what makes this place great!
Mike- I recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, where I studied political science and business. I was born in Canada, but I grew up in Houston, TX. I love the great outdoors, hockey, history, football, drumming, eating spicy and weird foods. I also spent two summers marching snare drum in the Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps - we toured the country performing and competing while sleeping on a bus and on gym floors - an awesome, yet crazy experience.
We met at UT two years ago and can't wait to begin our adventure!
PHILOSOPHY
Cristina - "Discover treasures where others see nothing unusual." and most importantly :) !

Music, Movies, and Books
Cristina - I'll listen to anything that's playing. I like seeing anything performed live and musicals!!! I like movies that make me think, laugh or cry ... I'm actually very easily entertained. Gotta love the Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne... I also like reading random inspirational quotes.
Mike - My favorite movies are JFK, Heat, Forrest Gump, Syriana, Body of Lies, Austin Powers, and Zach and Miri Make a Porno. In general, I enjoy any type of espionage thriller, political/historical movie, and documentary. I have an eclectic taste in music that includes all live music, jazz, funk, latin, blues, electronic, hip-hop, trip-hop, world, and some pop. I emjoy reading...when I have the time. I especially enjoyed The World is Flat, Freakonomics, The Snowball:Warren Buffett, and Harry Potter series.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We've broken a Guinness World Record together - we participated in the world's largest simultaneous dance of Michael Jackson's Thriller in Austin, TX!
Cristina was in free fall for 60 seconds on her first skydive.
Teach, Learn, Share
Mike - I would like to learn about foreign cooking! As far as sharing goes, I'm a percussionist and former percussion teacher, so I can teach people things percussion and music related if they're interested....
Cristina - I would love to learn Italian.
We can teach you how to dance Michael Jackson's "Thriller"? haha And we can always share our gratitude by helping out where we can.
