About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I try to always keep things fresh and exciting.

ABOUT ME

Hey Surfers! I have a passion for sharing cultures, ideas, and meeting people from everywhere. I was born and raised in the Philadelphia area and studied English, Spanish and International Studies. After spending a couple of years living in Spain, I came back to the USA, to Colorado. I lived in Denver for 2 years and now reside in Brooklyn, New York, where I work in the TV and Film Industry.

I am currently traveling throughout Europe for the winter, mostly in Spain (I can't get enough of this country) and look forward to visiting places I've been to before and seeing new places.

PHILOSOPHY

Maybe it changes from day to day, hour to hour, depending on how I feel at the moment, but usually it boils down to one main principal: appreciating all that I have in life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I currently am unable to host in my apartment in Brooklyn, but I am always open to meeting up in New York to grab a drink, go for a hike, or see part of the city. I'm always eager to be a tourist in my own city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I gained a lot of experience hosting in Spain, both in Ferrol, Galicia, and Madrid, Spain, and in my apartment in Denver, Colorado. I've surfed on other people's couches in Spain, Germany, Poland and in the US. It's always been a great experience and I'm grateful for all the interesting people I've meet. I've made some great friends via couchsurfing that I still stay in touch with regularly.

Interests

Film, traveling (not just being in a new places, but actually being on planes, trains, buses, and boats) eating, cooking, and trying new foods, writing, reading, listening to music, learning languages, studying history, watching baseball, boxing, playing basketball, I've been starting to like soccer a lot after living in Spain. I love the radio and listening to radio programs, documentaries, and podcasts.

Music, Movies, and Books

Difficult to answer...If you recommend me any book, movies, or music, I'll most likely read it, watch it, or listen to it.
Movies: I love film and film history; I can talk for hours about movies, so I don't really know where to begin here. I really love old movies. Billy Wilder is probably my favorite director.

Music: I like a lot of music, depending on the situation and mood. Lately I've been listening to a lot of clarinet jazz artists (Artie Shaw & Benny Goodman) partially because I've been trying to learn the clarinet.

Books: I just finished reading Sostiene Pereira by Antonio Tabucchi. Absolutely one of my favorite books. I recommend it to anybody that has never read it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, most recently, for Mother's Day, I took my mom to "Rhapsody in Blue" performed live by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. It is one of my favorite themes by one of my favorite composers, George Gershwin, and seeing it performed live was an amazing experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like learning new languages. I speak Spanish fluently and have a pretty strong base of Italian, and to a lesser extent Portuguese. I'm always open to practicing with anyone else who wants to learn.
I love learning through discussion, so really any conversation interests me! As I said, I love talking about movies, books, and history.
I am trying to learn to rock climb, so if anyone has any experience with that, I am eager to learn.
