Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've basically spent the last 3 years of my life letting various friends crash on my couch when they needed a place to stay for awhile, some of them multiple times. Shout out to former and probably current surfers Cole and Chance traveling the Pacific Northwest trying to make it up to Alaska right now. I figured it's time to step it up and start letting people I don't know crash on my couch. Right now I'm traveling in Europe so I'm looking to have some great Couchsurfing experiences and can hopefully return the favor to anyone who wants to travel in the States when I return home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My two best friends and I had nowhere to stay in San Diego on a cross-country road trip so we decided to wander around the downtown and see what was up. We followed the sound of singing and discovered a horde of people singing loudly and playing various accordions and brass instruments. They turned out to be holding a roving street protest because the promoter of the House of Blues in San Diego lead them to believe they'd be added to the bill of that night's show but wasn't answering their phone calls. They welcomed us into the group, called Di Nigunim at the time, and gave us drumsticks and cowbells and other percussion instruments. We ultimately ended up getting to go on stage that night and crashed at their house in the ghetto for 2 weeks. Here's to late night zombie tag, band practices on the roof, and Sergio Typhoon the nicest hardcore singer/professional zoologist I've ever met.
