About Me

We are myself, my wife, Carli-Ann, and our two daughters, Astrid (10) and Ember (7).
I am an electrical engineer, and my wife is a support worker for people with disabilities. She studied community development in university, and we love to explore the world together with our family, to meet new people and have new experiences and learn about new cultures.

We live in a small house in beautiful Victoria, BC on Vancouver Island, where we love to go camping, hiking, cycling, outrigger canoeing and dragonboating.

Before we had our children, my wife and I travelled to many countries in the world to learn about new places, and have lived, worked and/or studied in Scotland, New Zealand, Ireland, Mexico and Cuba. We have stayed and hosted with couchsurfing and hospitality club many times, and had all good experiences. We are now looking forward to learning with our children about new places, experiences, and people. We used to mostly travel by hitchhiking, but now we have kids!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We have used couchsurfing and hospitalityclub extensively before having kids. Our greatest memories of travelling are made by meeting new people in far away lands :)

We have couchsurfed these countries:
Germany, Poland, Ireland, UK, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Turkey, Sweden, Iceland, France, Spain, New Zealand, Australia, Taiwan, and most recently South Korea with our daughters!

Hospitality club member as well. ALL excellent experiences!
