Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Through couchsurfing I've met life-long friends, and some of them have even come to visit us in Canada! I love how couchsurfing reminds us that humans are better beings when we create a reciprocal gifting world together. As a guest I love to offer my photography, worldview, helping hands, and friendship. And now we are living in a community house where we can host guests, which has been so lovely!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first couchsurfing experience was on the island Syros in Greece and I was only planning in staying for a few days but I had so much fun there with our hosts that after leaving to Mykonos I came back and stayed for another week! I met such amazing people that I never would have met and saw some beautiful places, and learned a lot about the Greek political situation and how I could help even just as a traveler... Thanks to couchsurfing, Syros felt like home for those days, and still does!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once I was trying to hitchhike across Germany to Serbia with only a paper map and the language barrier, and somehow I ended up in the same town I started at 24 hours earlier.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I teach climate action and sustainability to elementary and high schools in my daily life, and am happy to share any insights! I love also discussing media, storytelling, and grassroots journalism. I also love getting free food dumpster diving if you want to learn about our community house lifestyle!
Learn: Anything! I’d love to learn more about local cultures, languages, and different ways of life. I'm always up for learning new recipes, music, or skills—whether it’s playing an instrument, a dance, or a unique craft.
It's also so interesting to hear about people’s activism, community organizing, and creative projects.
Share: I’m happy to share meaningful conversations over coffee or tea. If you’re into exploring, I’d love to walk around the city together and see what's special to you in your life!
