About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Looking for the one who turned out the lights. No I don't want them back on, just to know who turned them off.
ABOUT ME
I am a pretty regular guy but I know a lot of people who, while they love me or at least say they do, would say I am crazy. Maybe it's that I never really grasped the concept that to live well is to amass a lot of shit you don't need, to make sure I had more than my neighbors, to stay in the same place and never talk to a stranger. Ok, so that sounds like Pablo Neruda (see his poem Muere Lentamente or "Dying slowly")but Neruda only says what I have always believed, that life is lived in a very non static way. This idea that I want to be alive and not a zombie has made me want to learn other languages and for instance understand the lyrics of the Tango untranslated. That of course requires a good red wine, and I know the best, however a good potato vodka martini has no equal when the mood is right. I am a hard core believer in the world erasing borders and for the free movement of peoples. Until now only capital moves freely- so suddenly I understand why we live in a capitalist system and not a truly free one. Having said that- money has allowed me to travel and meet amazing people from so many different countries and cultures. For work I design mostly for the home furnishing industry, and write when I can. I am an artist when it moves me to do something new I do. I have lived love in the same way I have lived my life- in exploring territories that move my heart and hips too. I have been married to my best friend and have an almost 18 year old son with her. I stay with them in NYC when I am back in the big apple. I am recently separated from my gay partner for 3 years- Emilio, who is a syrian-argentine bear who has a real protector look but is as soft as a teddy bear. But like all things- what goes up... or something like that. I need to feel angst. Is that part of me feeling alive, maybe, but hey, what fucks you up more than angst? I like things raw or under cooked and that includes not only meat and vegetables (hmmm, last few months I've been cooking the shit out of everything) but the kinds of neighborhoods I prefer to live in and the types of places I like to visit. My favorite beaches are in Brazil and Venezuela. I used to own a little fisherman house-turned-hostel off the coast 90 nautical miles north of Caracas. I am an big downhill skier both back country powder hound and the bumps.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have been couchsurfing for years before the project, so this opens up so many new possibilities and simplifies the process of finding new surfers and couches in my travels. What I love about CS is that you can really connect with people regardless of age, culture, language, etc., and mostly that you know everyone on the site is like you searching for a life with less boundaries.
Interests
Big time back country downhill skier- including Utah, Idaho, Argentina, Chile, Uzbekistan, France, Italy, California, and more on my list yet to discover...
Also music- varied, lots, instruments piano and guitar (starting on the strings), love words, putting them together, I suppose that means I like to write? Art, Design, Cooking, Tango, Dance, Nude beaches (is there any other kind?), and well, travelling and learning to speak as many languages as possible.

My Favorite expressions in Argentine Spanish:
La puta que lo pario! (Oh fuck!)
Boludo (kind of like "jerk" but more fun and affectionate unless you're angry- my license plate on my oldsmobile is BOLUDO!)
Lo que te jedi. (What I was telling you)- sort of- typical in Argentine spanish there can be a word used backwards- in this case JEDI which would normally be DIJE (I said)
Tarado (Idiot) but in an affectionate way if you use it right.
LCDTM (for texting- figure it out!)
