About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Love unconditionally

ABOUT ME

I'm 6'7". I don't fit on love seats. I'm very sociable, outgoing, an ENFP(Extroverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Perceiving for those that know what that is) personality, love good conversation, I have a goofy sense of humor and don't mind making a fool of myself. I love to listen, people fascinate me.

PHILOSOPHY

True freedom is interior. EIther you live life or life lives you.
I'm extremely, sometimes painfully, sincere and honest. I value authenticity. I don't take myself seriously, but I do take life seriously. I am very loyal.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey; Crucial Conversations; Conquest of Mind by Eknath Easwaren; anything by GK Chesterton; The Power of Now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Eagle Scout.
One of my students was 75% deaf and taught herself English, her third language. She spoke clearer and had a wider vocab than 'average' students. I helped her learn sign language and it was one of the proudest moments of my life.
I was adopted by a French woman who took me and my friends in.
I had dysentery once.
When asked if I play basketball in foreign countries, I tell everyone "Chicago Bulls."
I used to teach in Lviv, Ukraine, the city my grandmother was born in.

Teach, Learn, Share

I used to teach English, Photography, American Culture and Journalism at a private university in Ukraine. I'm fluent in and have taught Photoshop, InDesign, Aperture, Lightroom, the iLife software from Apple and I fixed computers professionally in college. I can be handy. I'm also very outdoorsy, work at a newspaper(need something edited/written?) and enjoy teaching myself languages. I love to cook(roasted tomato caprese). Interested in learning just about anything, especially languages, home repair, new skills and carpentry.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My love of deep conversation, cooking, authentic cheap food, good scotch/whisky and beer. Love talking to people who challenge me with different viewpoints.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Canada, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, Fiji, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, Morocco, New Zealand, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Saint Martin (French part), Singapore, Sint Maarten (Dutch part), Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, Vatican City State
